Tips on Power Tool Maintenance

You invested a lot of your tools and want it to last for a long time. Power tools cost pricey, especially the branded tools like Milwaukee 18v, Makita, Bosch, etc. Things need care so that they will be usable and helpful to its user. Also, taking care or maintaining them in the good condition can prevent accidents and most especially it will make your work finish faster.

Read the following tips below on how to make your power tools extends its usable life and still working for years coming.

Store your power tools on dry Place. Moistures may result corrosion on the metal of a power tool. Make sure you store them away from excessive heat and cold.

Make them dust and shaving free. Dust, metal shavings and wood particles are bad to your power tools. These can cause slowing down of motors especially on drill tools. After using them, use blower or clean the parts where dust and shaving can go. These will help you to avoid part replacement.

Clean the tools regularly. Make a habit of cleaning your tools after using them to avoid corrosion and slowing its functionality.

Check the tool cords. Damage cords can be a hazard and will make your tools not work properly. If there’s a cut on it, place a tape to avoid electric shocks and to maintain its functionality.

Maintain the Blade Sharp. A dull blades and saw may produce improper work and may harm you. A weak blade can split into many parts and possibly fly to you. See to it, the blades are sharp and free from rust.
